In the heart of Asia lies a land of many cultures, wonders and attractions. With a sparkling and lively melting pot of races and religious where Malays, Chinese, Indians and the many ethnic groups of Sabah and Sarawak live together in peace and harmony, Malaysia is truly a country that epitomises Asia.
In friendly Malaysia, even the British, Dutch, Portuguese and Thai have left their mark. Radiant with colour, throbbing with life, alluring Malaysia welcomes you to partake in an incomparable Asian feast for the senses.
Such a diversity of ethnic groups inevitably features a large number of spoken languages. The official local language is Bahasa Melayu, but then English is widely spoken as are a number of Chinese dialects. Various other languages are spoken and East Malaysia features several other indigenous languages.
With such obvious diversity, it is remarkable that racial tension is not a constant problem but clearly the gentleness and tolerance of the local population contributes to a real spirit of peace and harmony.
Indeed, there can be no better reward than the soul of Asia in one incentive holiday. In Malaysia, tourists can have that. It's almost like going on a trip around the region in one single country.
Therefore, let the tapestry of Malaysia’s rich cultural heritage reawaken world-weary senses. Feel the rhythm of vivacious cities and serene countryside. Marvel at centuries-old rainforests and caves, beaches and mountains. Savour mouth-watering culinary specialties, from spicy to sweet to exotic. Listen to the delights of shoppers over incredible bargains at quaint night markets or world-class malls. Bask in the fragrance of stunning flora and pure, invigorating air.
It certainly is fitting when Tourism Malaysia, in an effort to sell Malaysia to the world, decided to use the tagline “Malaysia, Truly Asia.”
so, are you ready to travel?..
