I support 'reservations'.
1.One thing you should accept, future of India is not hanging behind brilliants, but behind 80% of less qualified population.
2.If you arque for 'merit' to rule the nation, i ask you, if this is the case, we should not have driven away the British. They were more educated than any indians.
3. You (higher caste) created the caste and classes. Catogrically denied eduction and employment to some sectors. Once the country was freed from British what should be our prime job? Educating the suppressed or supporting the 'merit' traqulas? Real sinners.
4. Treating equaly the unequal people is a sin. You want to steal their money in terms of merit, education and jobs?
They need justice.
This amendment from central govt should have come many many years before.

its a waste thing... how can u select ppl based on thr caste and creed.. if govt really wanna work for upliftment of backward class it should start providing them with primary and secondary free education... it doesnt make sense of quotas in post graduate studies... i hv myself seen many of this ppl leave course halfway and so we are at loss... the seat just gets wasted whn some aspiring good student could haev studied well with those seat and helped nation... provide ppl with basic necessities rather than starting up this quota things...

Until Constitution of India changed I'll oppose the system of reservation. You have mentioned reservation reg. Education only. But I'm strongly oppose reservation to employment also, except to Phy. handicapped. To this category also jobs to be given taking their economic conditions/dependents on him as main criteria. Coming to your discussion, kindly see my response to suryachalla discussion.
