I am a freelance writer, who mainly specializes in website content. Most of my work involves writing articles for website owners who are looking to increase their search engine ranking. As with what you said, fresh content helps. It also helps to target certain keywords. When using keywords, you want to try and use them a number of times in your article. But, be careful of using them too many times because then your content may be considered spam. I am going to post a link below to a website that I use all the time. I love it. When I am writing on a specific topic, such as air purifiers, I enter the word air purifiers into the search box and then it tells me what phrases people are using to search for information on air purifiers. This all can vary depending on what search engine ranking you are using. And really, at the end of the day, is it all about ranking or all about starting a site about some topic you love or have a passion for? If you care about diabetes and you help 5 people....who cares if your site is popular in the seach engines? Do what you love, know about, or care about. The rest is just fodder.

I guess the thing that works over on ranking is just ... number 1 "Money" Number 2 "Beggin" number 3 "friends or visits" and number 4 "interest". Theres sites with alot of spam that are rigth on the top of search engines... why is that ?? Money and friends! I guess that probably internet belongs to the rich ppl. I mean imagin to have your site listed in search directorys ... you have to pay abt 300 dls and this is if your site has any interest... cause if not u will lose. Once more Money. Theres other ways to promote a site to have your traffic going up ... like adv. in newspapers where the average u spend is abt 100 bucks ... still Money here! i have seen worse sites then mine and they are posted over on the top... so ... interest? I Dont know abt it ... cause if some dont even have nothing writed on... once more Money! So basically if u have money you have your spot in the so so famous search engines.Other then that, you have to have a site that calls out alot of ppl to be called "famous" Now dont come up with the optimisation thing cause theres nothing to do with it... Check the codes on some sites that are over there and see how good are they optimisation. Well i could be here talking and talking... but ... its about it .Money, Beggin, friends/visits this is how i see it ! Regular updation is necessary to remain in a good position in a search engine. But sometimes too much of updation may not work at all.

As to the frequency of updates, I am not sure that it makes that much difference, only as it affects the above two variables. I do a bit of web design and have enough clients to keep me busy and fed. A lot of seo specialist feel it's best to take over and do the optimizing research and work, which earns them a lot of money. It takes time to do it correctly without and black hat search engine optimizing. I know the power of search engine optimization and web pages. I teach what I have learned to my clients and get them very involved in their own success. Then it's all about content. Real content that people are looking for. People that are interested and need or want what my clients are selling. The way the content is presented has a big influence on how it positions in the search engines so I have the client create content for specific keywords and create pages based on those keywords. Example: I have a client that is a bear hunting guide and he wanted to get people from around the world to hire him. So he hired me to create a web site for him and in three years he has always had his camp full of hunters, from various places around the globe. But even better than that. In the three years I have been working with this client he has been getting more clients than he can handle so they have books for a year ahead, so now he has an established customer base and has been able to build a brand new lodge. It's all about content and giving the visitors exactly what they are looking for by creating content pages that are real. Keep adding content. I try to add at least a thousand words at a time. The target groups my clients want to do business with are not marketers but every day people with hobbies, like hunting, fishing, poetry, church memberships... Pick a target market that you can truly solve a problem for. Write content that they are looking for, which takes some research but time well invested. Keep a strong keyword focus on each and every page and always have something for them when they land on any of your pages. The search engines are there to give those seeking the results they can. That is their purpose. So if you write content that your human readers want and write it in the same way those people would search for it, the search engines will love it and eat it up.
