I've been taking the drug for awhile, but it isn't really helping or hurting. Does anyone have any suggestions?

ive never been on zoloft but was on something else called aropax and it was doing pretty well but my doctor has decided to try me on new medication that has apparently been given to people who have low motivation or energy and its given many of them more energy and stuff.. this new one is called edronax and whilst i dont feel much different at the moment, ive only been on it just over a month...my doctor always gets me in ever 2 weeks when i start new medications so she can keep an eye on it or normally i see her once a month..i have been blessed with a doctor who always wants to keep an eye on things.
you could try the dose increase but if it doesnt help within a few months then go back to your doctor and talk to her about trying something else. the only problem with changing medications is that you have to decrease your current medication slowly (over about a week) then start the other medication slowly and it can make you feel like you did before you were given meds. but dont lose hope, that will go away again when the new ones kick in...
good luck

Thanks! I think it's working now. My motivation and enthusiasm is back, along with a more optimistic outlook on my future. Before, I didn't really think I was going to have one, so hopefully this Zoloft really is doing its job.

If you are convinced that the med is not of benefit, talk to the Doctor. There are lots of antidepressants available, and it is not one size fits all. The people I have known have benefitted from Zoloft, but again, it is an individual thing. Please talk to your Doctor.

I have, and she's suggesting I try a higher doseage, but I'm just not sure. You're right about the individual thing, that's why I'm trying zoloft. Nothing else has worked so far... except for ice cream and chocolate, of course.
