how much do you typically tip your stylist?

I know the tip should probably be based on what services you receive and or what ever you feel like giving them. Is a tip a must though?

A tip is not a must for me. I only gave a stylist if I am satisified with the service he rendered. But most of the time I am not satisfied so I am not sticking to one hair salon. I am still searching for a stylist or a salon which will give me the satisfaction that I am looking for.

oh! it's not our culture to tip the hairstylist. i felt that what they are charging is so expensive already, and they should be getting some from there already..i went for a digital perm recently and it cost about $100...i dont think i want to tip anymore after that...as it's so expensive LOL
