I have a different method to read a book. First, I always look the table of contents. Then I read the preface to see the writer view. After read the preface, I skim and using speed reading. I give more time and scan in the interesting topic. What about you? Do you have any methods?

I like your method. You give me a new method to read a book. I must use your method, but I don't know about speed reading.
I always read a book, from the first page to the last page. Now, I know it's not the best, we must use the good method. Thanks for the method.

That's great if you can the the good things in my method. As I said, different people has different methods..I just want to use my time. Sometimes I didn't read the whole book, I just read what I need, maybe some chapters only...

I've never learned the speed reading from internet. I'd learned it from the people who gave me free course...

I don't have any specific reading method actually, but i read from the first page of dedication to the last page where bibiography or index of the book stays. If it is not a fiction, I first go through entire book without reading it, just looking for some snippets of news or bites to read and then after that start all over again from the beginning reading it page by page and of course using the bookmark everytime i had to close the book.

It's true in some cases. For example, if I read the Bible, I've never used my method. But, when I read the newspapers, scientific books, fiction books, I really enjoy use my method. Thanks for the opinion. I really appreciate it.

Never come to my mind to figure out the way I read a book until I read your topic! You gave me something to think about it. So what I discover about the way I read is: first I look the back site of the book to see information about the writer or the story of the book, after the first pages with table of contents, the writer view, the introduction…When I start read the book I read it all without skip nothing not even a word. And the more important never ever I read the end first………The fast reading method is something I didn’t do before, I’ll check it at net and see. I like learn anything new.

That's cool if you know many ways to read a book. Sometimes we don't have enough time to read the good books. So, we must use our time to enjoy as many as we can. And there are many kinds of books. It means there are different approach to read it too. Such as the Bible, there are different ways to read each book in the Bible.. I mean, when you read Psalm, The Gospel of Matthew, and Paul's Letters, they are in different genres..

i like to read the old fashion way, from left to right then top to bottom and not missing a phrase... I just love it and if I have to read a pharse all over again I would so I could capture what the writer is telling me...

I usually will always read the back cover of a Book first before even buying it unless it is one Truly recommended from someone, or by one of my favorite authors out there as well. If it is a hard cover, I will read the inside jacket information first as well to give me an idea if it is something I would be interested in reading as well. But then when I first start reading a book, I will read the introduction area if there is one to give me some idea on the book is about, and then read from there. If a book is Good enough I find it does not matter if you read it from cover to cover as well.

I don't know why, but every time I pick up a book, I read every page without skipping anything. It's a crazy habit. In the last few years I've learned to ease a little bit on this, so I may cast a quick glance if the topic is interesting, but not without a certain sense of guilt :) I'm really passionate about details, so not skipping anything makes me feel like I've really mastered the book.

I just start at the beginning and read to the end. I always skip the pictures if there are any in the book I am reading, until after I have read the whole book. I don't know why they always put the pictures in the middle of the book. It sometimes gives away something before you read about it.
