Let us Discuss about Ill effects of Internet

These problem is mostly and faced by the personell who uses net for wrong things.

very good first discussion you've posted! welcome to mylot! i think you are right, that we need to take the bad with the good regarding the internet. most businesses these days make it hard for clients to deal with them unless they do so through the internet. but are they offering the security they should? i have a great example: i recently found out that my apartment had not been insured for an entire year, because it seems the insurance company never received my payment. i really did not want to pay via their website, but had no choice. well, it looks like somethinng wasn't secure, either my bank transaction or the transaction with the insurance company themselves. if i had dealt with the payment in person, at least i would have had a real confirmation that everything was paid up. over the net, i received a "confirmation" by email, but if the company hadn't received my money, why didn't they contact me MONTHS ago, not a year after the fact? now they claim if a payment is not made on time, they consider the account CLOSED. how dare they do that when they insist that people pay by internet, which isn't as foolproof as they insinuate? i have had similar problems dealing with other agencies, usually government-run, who have actually turned me away when i went to their office in person. for instance, i wanted a simple price quote on something, and the sales rep told me she can only tell me by email!!! when i'm standing right in front of her!!?!? that's crazy! so companies that use the net to help their business, may also sometimes be causing new problems.

Scams have always been around, even in the beginning of time. There is always someone wanting something for nothing. I use to get alot in the mail and still get alot from telemarketers. Now I get them from the internet. It is a fact of life, we just get more from the internet because it is worldwide. When you look up information, you should always compare it to several other sites to see if it is true or is documented. I don't know if anyone else has noticed, but for every great technology developed, someone finds a way to use it for evil.

There are alot of scams and lies on the internet and there is no way for us to tell the truth, the best thing is not to be as gulliable to everything you see.

It has great benefits. Convenience when communicating with others. Gathering information easily on enything and everything. Making money online. The biggest 2 dangers are obviously access to garbage for those that are that way inclined and time addication, tending to create a less active and less healthy lifestyle.

The internet is a tool like any other tool it can be used for good or bad purposes .Take a hammer for example you can take a hammer and do some great things build or fix things make a living with it .You can also take a hammer and destroy ours property you could even kill a person with a hammer but the hammer it's self does not choice what it is used for .The same is true with the internet people use it to both do good and bad it is our choice thats the way it should be we should not have the desire to be the moral gaurds for others .

Yes, I feel exactly the same as you do. I have spent so much money on scams on the internet. But I guess that is everyday life. Its just like everyday people. They lie to you.

WE CAN'T SAY THAT NET IS FULL OF SCAMS , BECUASE THERE IS ONE THOUGHT ALSO EVERY COIN HAS TWO SIDES , THAT MEANS IN NET ALSO THIER ARE TWO SIDE AND I THINK SO THAT SCAMS RATIO IS MORE HIGHER IN OUR REAL LIFE COMPARING TO NET . ON NET W LOOSE FEW BUCKS BUT IN REAL LIFE PEOPLE LOOS THEIR WHOLE LIFE INCOMES .

I think the internet has made it harder for people to relate in person. They spend all their time online with people who agree with them instead of working out their problems with people face-to-face. It's alos made it a lot easier for perverts and other people to prey on children. I keep my computer in my locked office so my kids can't use it unless my wife or I is supervising them.

Internet!! I feel it's an addiction. It results in we people spending so much time in front of the coomp sitting at one place. It's very bad for our health. And till some extent I also feel that kids these days waste a lot of time on the internet.

internet has many PROS AND CONS we all know the biggest of all is the adult sites they have played more than enough role in spoiling our children:( and our youth and has created many social problems:(

There are many pros and cons to the internet. It is true there are a lot of scams, but you have to expect that in an uncontrolled inviorment. Too much control may ruin it. It comes down to the individual making the right choices.

Internet is like anything else that we consider bad...it is all about self control, people have the right to refuse, and do not have to taken in by the scams or what ever. I tis no different than sitting down and eating until we are sick, or drinking until we pass out...no body is forcing the food into our mouths, our the drink into our stomachs...so who is forcing us to sit in front of the computer and get scammed or whatever...just the person sitting in front of the computer...common sense goes a long ways in life...
