I prefer PHP and MySQl on Linux. The only problem I face on Linux is there are no better web designig softwares. But still i am happy with Quanta Plus and nvu.

I love PHP and MYSQL Combination.. i love open source programming languages. I know ASP a little bit, but this language is so slow. No webserver programming language can beat PHP.

I like php as the server side programming language
and the mysql as the back end.

I never got into PHP. I learned ASP at my first web job and I've been using it exclusively ever since. I like that you can connect to SQL databases or MS Access databases. We used Cold Fushion for a year, but I didn't like that language much. I think I like ASP because I feel like I can do anything in it if I try hard enough!
At my current job we also use XML with Sharepoint, and SAS programming, but I still prefer ASP.

I am not experienced with either but I tried both and stuck with PHP. I stopped learning a while back and want to pick it up again. I was doing it on a windows box. I used XAMPP to set up an easy development environment.

Preferably ASP.NET. I gives you a load of flexibility for designing small to enterprise level applications. It also aids you in R.A.D(Rapid Application development).
