Researchers believe that the reason of the laugh is related with the desire of not being alone and the necessity to create bows. Laughs occur when people feel confortable with each other, when they are relaxed and free. And the more is laughed together, more bows is created. This could be the reason why laugh is so contagious. Studies also show that natural leader have more sense of humor than their subordinates. You probably saw the classic scene when the boss makes outburst of laughter and all his gangsters follow his emotions? To control the mood of a group is a way to mantain power over the group. To reaffirm the thesis that the laugh is a social act, other studies had proven that we are 30 times more susceptible to the laugh when we are in group of what when we are alone.
