Mindoro the land of Gold!

Mindoro- in Spanish is "Mina de Oro" meaning Land of Gold, where it is still believed that it was called by the ancient seafarers because they found gold on this island. Mindoro is divided into two provinces, on the east by Oriental Mindoro and on the west by Occidental Mindoro. The two provinces are separated by a mountainous ridge consisting mainly of two former volcanoes, Mr. Halcon and Mt. Baco. The island boasts of white sand beaches, and secluded and protected coves where the pirates of old used to use this as their camps and a hiding place for pirate ships. Have you been there?
