Is lethal injection a humane way to execute someone?

Recently in the news I saw a story about a boched execution. The execution took over 30 minutes to be completed. Normally it takes around 15 minutes, and is supposed to be painless. later medical examiners found extensive chemical burns all over the mans body. Does this sound like a human way to die? Shouldn't we come up with another way to execute people. I mean the injection they give you is filled with all these wierd chemicals to kill you. Why don't they just give them an overdose of morphine or something?

Well it is like this, if the guy hadn't committed the crimes in the first place he wouldn't have been in that situation to begin with. I really could care less about the problems with executions. These are people who have committed terrible crimes against others, why should i show pity to them when they showed none to others. Personally i think that they should all just go back to the old ways of hanging or a firing squad. Lets worry about our people dying of cancer and our starving children in this world and not waste our time worring if we killed a murder the "right" way.

it is humane if the person accused of the crime is indeed the person who committed the crimes. they are getting punishment for their wrong-doing.

I do not think there is a good way to kill someone. If I would have to die this way I would like a injection and be put to sleep.I have had surgey before and they can put you out no problem.I do not know what they were using on this man but thy should have called my surgeon because I was out in no time.

well, lethal injection is a better way to kill the criminals than to hang as done in some countries. no need to show pity coz they didnt show pity to those on who the criminals assaulted.

Yea I hear where your coming from, and if someone did something to one of my loved ones, I would have a hard time showing pitty too. However two wrongs don't make a right. Be the bigger man

i think there isn't any humane way to kill someone..but it is a better alternative than electric chair or gas chamber..but still, killing is killing..

Its a fact that animals are treated with more respect and compassion than humans when it comes to putting us out of our misery.

i dont think its humane to make someone suffor for 30 mins or even 15, i agree with flesher they should make it so they die painlessly i mean they are criminals but they are still human we should treat them like human beings

I find it amazing how people will question just how "humane" an execution is. If you take away someone's rights, your rights should be taken away too. Including your right to a painless execution. Maybe if prisoners were tortured prior to being executed, it would be a better deterrent.

I agree. Hard coreCriminals shouldn't have all those rights and privileges especially those who rape, terrorize and kill. Why not a good old fashioned firing squad.

lethal injection chamber - lethal injection chamber
We all have different views here.. Im totally against lethal injection.. or other way of killing people as punishment for what they done! We must give them a chance to change anyway even they comitted crime!! As christian views.... only God can take people lives as he created human.. Ask forgiveness and God will forgive you!! All Human must have the chance to regrets for all his/her sins and live the right way!

I think if a person has commited a grave crime then he must be punished as severely as possible but only those people must suffer who have done big crimes like blowing up people and properties and killing people like terrorist.................

Yea I agree with you, but there can't be a diiferent type of execution for different crimes. There needs to be one humane one for all of them. For instance I believe the Guilotine may have been crude and barbaric, but I bet you don't fell any pain either!

well i guess execution on the whole should be banned.it dosnt help at all.i guess all religions preach that no one has the right to take another humans life.well atleast our religion hinduism does.i agree that one who kills someone has commited a serious crime but killing that person does not help at all.i guess they should sentenced to lifetimes prison or something like that.

Nothing is perfect, and no matter what way we choose to execute somebody, there are going to be people who find something wrong with it.

my first question here is - dont ull think tht simply killing the dreaded criminal is too easy n quick a punishment for wht he/she has done ... letting them stay in jail n suffer for their lifetime wud b a better punishment for the inhumane crimes tht they must hve committed ... so i feel, capital punishment itself (no matter by wht means) is the most humane punishment for the b@$t@rd !!

I dont think we should be executing people anyway. We don't have the right to take a life. That's why we get so upset and start justifying our actions as society dictates when someone else does it. Lock 'em up - don't kill them. The human mind has far more ways of ounishment than we can dream up anyway. Better they be tormented by the realisation of their crime for the rest of their natural life.

It dosent sound human but it sounds justifying. Whatever the criminal did to get that injection probably deserved it.

there really is no humane way to kill a person but lethal injection seems to be the lesser of evils so to speak.

If he is guilty it will for the pain he caused in the victims and love ones, in this case i dont realy care. Hope it was not an innocent person.

anything injected to a human being no matter what it is im sure the person will feel it, no matter how humane they say it will be, some people are receptive of chemicals.. and some are sensitive who are we to say that it is humane, you are killing a human being... in the old days they will just hang you, but its the same thing you will feel every minute of it...

Execution should be rather taken away from the justice system. No matter how one is executed, itis illegal by all standards but the law.
