I'm a newbie in making websites and I want people to look at my website and comment on it or make any suggestions. I would like as many people as possible to my site and I'm wondering how can I get more people to visit my site?

you can exchange links with people put their links on your site and have them put your links on theirs.... you can also post your link around ....
