For as long as I can remember, babysiters have always been girls, or women. Why is this? I think guys are good with kids too?

This is not always the case. I have two sons and have hired a male babysitter in the past for them.

Honestly, I had a live in Nanny for a while that was a female and I hired a male sitter a couple of weeks ago so that I could do some Christmas shopping for my children. Other than that, I am a freelance writer that works from home and I also homeschool my kids, so, I do not have a need to hire any babysitter - male or female. I do not have a preferance when it comes to gender. If the person has the right qualifications and my children enjoy their company, I would hire them. Being male or female has nothing to do with quality childcare.

That may be true, but God has also made it to where a male is required to conceive. I believe everyone should be able to take part in watching kids if that is what they want to do. No one should be undermined for a position simply because of their gender.

Babysiters are always because they like to do that and I think that is womans job to watch the kids. The mans job is to bring the money so the woman can give the kids what they want.

I beg to differ. This is a free world and people can make their choices on what type of living arrangement that they wish to have. There was a time when my husband could not work due to an issue with his health and he watched our children while I worked outside the home. There was no problem with this and this arrangement worked out fine. Whatever works for a person and whatever they prefer is their choice.

Males can be just as reliable as women. Especially if they have the proper qualifications to babysit children.

There ARE male babysitters. Just not a lot since they're embarassed since people consider it a female job.
