Do cats have emotions? Tell me how you are so sure. I KNOW dogs do!

Really, I know that cats have emotions. My kitty Skoooter definitely loves me. The thing is I am not a cat person AT ALL. Give me a dog anyday. However, I was just browsing in the pet store one day and saw my baby Skoooter in the cat display. He was just a little baby kitty at the time, a small male angora. I don't know why but I said to the clerk, Is that a male? Oh, let me tell you, she saw me coming!! She claimed she couldn't tell without looking closely so she went in back to get to the cage and check him. She lifted him out and brought him to me and put him in my arms. He was all warm and cuddly and purred about like a truck. Remember I said I don't even like cats. Well as soon as the kitten cuddled up to me and started purring I was a goner. Skoooter (so named because he runs everywhere so fast) has lived with us for almost a year now and he has no idea that I don't like cats. He gets along very well with our other three cats and with our dog. He and my dog Maxxx like to play a hide and seek game in our bedroom. Skoooter runs all around the bed and hides under the covers while Maxxx who is about five times the cat's size runs around and chases him and pounces over and over again on the lump under the blankets. It's really very funny. None of the other cats will play with Maxxx, but these two are best friends.

of course cars have emotions!! they sit and purr like crazy when they are happy and growl when they are mad. I even think that my cat has dreams because sometimes when she is sleeping she makes weird groaning noises lol. I love my cat, and i know she loves me and my family too!

everybody including cats has emotions.I know this because cats show affection by rubbing against you and purring it means that he likes you.just like dogs have emotions and every living thing has emotions everything/everybody shows emotions in different ways it does not matter if you are a cat person or not.

Sometimes cats know when they are around people who are not cats and they work really hard to be just as annoying as they can possibly be. This also happens to me all the time because I am allergic to some. I am used to those at our house but if I go somewhere to strange cats I have terrible allergic symptoms yet the cats will cling right to me, probably because they smell mine. Actually they aren't mine, they are my husbands cats. Four cat is like three too many.

Cats have emotions! The one emotion they have that some animals other than humans have is humour. You know when they jump out and give another cat/dog a fright? Then they walk off (inwardly) laughing. Cats are the best pets! I love them.

Too Cute! - Butchie
Yes, cats have emotions. I know that my sisters cat - Garfield - has lots of them. He gets very sad when she goes on vacation - so we do not talk about it in front of him and she packs her bags last minute. When he sees that luggage going out of the house he gets mad at her and won't say good bye. He's a talker that's how I know this. So, he won't talk to her or look at her when she is leaving. If she gets in his face to say good bye he turns and gives her the butt! He also does this the first few days that she is back. I take care of her cats when she goes away. The do get depressed the first 2 or 3 days cause they don't eat as much. The big boy Pudgy always knows when they are on the way back. I know when he starts to act up and get excited, I'd give her a call and say I guess your on your way home. She'd say yep and I say I knew it cause Pudgy is acting up. The closer to home the more worked up he gets. He is so happy to see his human daddy when they are back he rubs rubs rubs and his tail wags like a dog LOL

Plants are living things. Some people believe they are affected by the emotions of people around them. I'm not so sure about that.

My husbands female cat wags her tail constantly. But in different rhythms. Sometimes you can see she is just chilling. Sometimes you can see she is royally ticked off.

i beleive any animal weather it is a cat or any other have emotions. in fact to be more generic anything who breaths have emotions. we can not discard someone saying he or she do not have emotions just because we cannot understand them.

I think they have emotions. But I think the dog is more smart than cat.I have two dogs and a cat in my familly. They all are members of our familly. I think they are more funny when cats are small. They become a little lazy when they grow up. Also sometimes they don't want to play with you unless they are hungry and want you to feed them. On the other hand, dogs are always cute. I feel dogs are more closely to human being. Anyway, dogs and cats are all my favoriate pets.

That's exactly the way it is. Everything in life is relative and depends who is looking at it and how you look at it.

It depends on whether you are a cat or dog person. I am a cat person, and have always felt that cats are much smarter than dogs. But now I see that it is simply one's personal preference coloring their opinion.

I really think they do, just like dogs do. Why do you have 4 cats if you dont like them? well this cat seems wonderful and pleasant so maybe you are changing your mind? me personally i really dont like cats, i like dogs and mostly small dogs. i have a cute little maltese and love him dearly.

100% sure they do. I have two cats and when I don't feed them when they think it's time to be fed, they get mad at me, and do things like claw the carpet, claw me, ect. When they're happy the purr and snuggle with me. They definitely do have emotions.

my roommate's cat definitely shows signs of emotion. they even conversw with each other! like when we get home the cat would jump into her and she'd ask questions like "how are you?" and "were you lonely being here alone?" and the cat would purr and purr as if explaining something. and if that cat (it was a male) got into a fight it would go home and purr loudly to attract attention and would tell his story (by purring again). and we'd say things like, "really, is it that ugly bad cat on the corner?." when the cat did something bad like scratching into something the owner gets mad it would hide andwhen it shows itself it's eyes were sayong "mercy, mercy!"

We have one cat who has to tell us a big story about whatever it is he did while he spent time outside. Sometimes the stories go on for a few minutes. Of course he expects us to answer him when he starts talking so we have regular conversations.

It is obvious when my cats are happy. We can tell if the are feeling playful, excited, or sad or when they just want to be left alone. I have onr that talks to me, one that plays pick a boo, one that plays fetch,(...like a dog)and one that jumps off the highest piece of furnture, to flie across the room to pounce on one of the other unsuspecting preys. It's all wonderful!

A friend of mine had a siamese that played fetch with a ball of paper. All our cats like to be at the highest point in any room, whether it is on top of furniture or a shelf. The adore scaring each other and us by dropping without notice.
