Why would someone get the Flu shot?

OKay I keep hearing about people getting sick once they get the flu shot, that it in fact makes you get the flu so you dont get it again. Is this true? If so why would one get it done? How sick does it make you, do you get the full on flu? And I thought that you could only get the same virus once?

I have heard the same thing that the flu shot makes people sick and does not prevent them from getting the flu. I have yet to have a flu shot done and prefer to stay away from it. It is definitely not good to have it if you are already sick as it would make you feel even worse. Some viruses you can only get once but most you can get multiple times.

Because of my Illness I have to have the Flu injection every year as the Flu can kill me
With the Flu injection you do not get the Flu you just get the symptoms for a few Day after and a runny nose and that
The Flu you are able to get over and over again
