I read an article about it.
You'll learn what happened when we took a close, hard look at "The Da Vinci Code" and how it uses science, technology, art and history.
Warning: Spoiler Alert
This article discusses numerous plot points from "The Da Vinci Code."
Trouble at the Louvre
"The Da Vinci Code" begins with a crime at the Louvre Museum in Paris. At the behest of someone known as "the Teacher," a man named Silas murders curator Jacques Saunière. After reviewing the evidence, French investigators summon Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon for questioning.
Captain Bezu Fache of the Direction Centrale Police Judiciaire (DCPJ) is sure that Langdon is the murderer. Fache has one of his lieutenants plant a GPS (Global Positioning System) dot in Landon's pocket. It's a "metallic, button-shaped disk, about the size of a watch battery." This dot, according to cryptographer Sophie Neveu, is accurate to two feet and lets the DCPJ track Langdon's location, no matter where he is. In other words:
* It's tiny.
* It's amazingly accurate.
* It works indoors.
Our ancestors had to go to pretty extreme measures to keep from getting lost. They erected monumental landmarks, laboriously drafted detailed maps and learned to read the stars in the night sky.
Things are much, much easier today. For less than $100, you can get a pocket-sized gadget that will tell you exactly where you are on Earth at any moment. As long as you have a GPS receiver and a clear view of the sky, you'll never be lost again.
In this article, we'll find out how these handy guides pull off this amazing trick. As we'll see, the Global Positioning System(GPS) is vast, expensive and involves a lot of technical ingenuity, but the fundamental concepts at work are quite simple and intuitive.
See we've been faked!

The book is clearly marked as fiction. I do not see where you think you are being hoaxed? Did you believe it was real? I'm not trying to be mean, I'm just confused by this.
It's like saying Harry Potter does not really exist. Well, yes, it's fiction and everyone knows that.

This book was never supposed to be regarded as truth. It's a good story, fiction, someone's imagination in overdrive, nothing more, nothing less. The book has some interesting historical facts, but you can't take the whole book as fact. It's a fun book to read and was also made into a great movie.

yes because it's fiction. the concept was based from facts but the story behind the concept is just fistion. it's like a love story, it can be based in real life-the concept that is-but the story is about two different people..so yeah it's fake..if you have the book it has a disclaimer.

It was a fictional book and so anything is possible. Although I do admire how you found a flaw in it. Many people that I know have been determined to find a problem with it and I'm sure they are going to be cross with me when I tell them about this.

But what is your question. The da Vinci Code is a work of fiction and should be taken as that. No one has been faked. I know there is now almost a cult of people who follow the trail of the da Vinci Code locations. What they want to find I don't know. It is clear from the outset that this is a work of fiction.

the da vinci code is a book.
a story.
a novel.
a work of fiction.
it just so happens that the story is based on reality.
get it???
BASED on reality?
meaning - if you think about it - it IS fake.
come on.
get over it.
