If you are voted 'best response' how do you know for which discussion? Is there a way of looking it up?

No, there is not way to track this as of right now. A few people have asked for it though. Normally, you know if you have the best responce because the user will designate you as such then respond to your post. The pencil next to your name means you were awarded the best responce.
