Should we be tolerant of killing?

I believe man should be tolerant of each other to AVOID killing. Some have labeled me as intolerant because I speak out against the killing going on in the middle east. Many blame the US as if it is all our fault! We are there trying to get the killing to STOP.

To answer your question. Yes. I do not believe in murder which is what killing someone is. Why not kill the murderers people ask? Because it solves nothing. In the end of the bloodbath nobody has learned anything except that life is unimportant and people are disposable when you disagree with them. I don't think it will end any time soon though. Humans by nature try to control others. It is something learned shortly after birth. A baby cries because he is hungry and the mother (or someone) feeds him/her. They believe they have controlled the mother. This illogical assumption should be changed when the child is a toddler yet many times it goes on for the rest of their natural born lives. That is sad. I look around at the people in my life and watch as they try to control each other everyday. They fight, argue, manipulate and coerce to gain control. They are very unhappy people. We would all be better served to take a good look in the mirror and work to change what we see. In doing so we will ultimately help to change the world and make it a better place. My 2 Cents...

I live what I write. I spend some time each and ever day working with someone to help the see what difference they can make in the world if they would learn to stop trying to control others and begin to control themselves. A novel idea...yet so many resist

Popular topic tonight! I agree with you, man should respect human life and be tolerant of diversities among cultures and religions. I hate it that so many of our military, the Iraqi military, and innocent victims are being killed, but I believe like you do that the U.S. is not to blame for the problems in Iraq, or anywhere else, for that matter. I may not agree with most of what President Bush has done, but the fact is that he has congressional support- he is not able to make these decisions unilaterally. He is an educated man (I'm sick of everyone saying that he is stupid) and he is doing what he sincerely believes is the best thing to keep the American people and the world safe. We are in Iraq to try to help them stabilize a normal government and stop killing each other. When these posters start calling Bush a terrorist, etc., I have been asking them for their opinions on the fact that Alquiada has openly declared war on anyone who does not follow their beliefs. They have recently been flaunting the fact that they are actively recruiting and training new terrorists so that they will have a presence in every nation in the world. Doesn't sound like they have a plan for world peace, does it? Interestingly enough, not a single person has bothered to respond to this. None of us hate the Muslim people for being Muslims. We hate only the Muslim people who are terrorists and who want to kill us. There is the difference.

But we don't have to be tolerant of a group who is killing right?
