Does the current hollywood trend of adapting best-selling novels/comics into movies stem more from a lack of creativity, or is it simply business sense?
What is your favourite movie that has been based on a book.
Mine has to be The Color Purple.

making books to movies is quite logical since u already have a story and a script ready for you. even the detailin of the locations will be given so it will not be tough creatin things from scratch. but tht doesnt mean a good book will become a good movie. there will be lots of little things which r told in book which cannot be captured in the movie. so its quite a challengin job. my fav book to movie has to Lord of the rings, the adaptation & the picturization was simply outstanding.

I actually think its a bit of both really...It is a good biz move/strategy because alot of ppl feel that the movie version will be fantastic etc (I disagree with that myself) but I also think that they are running out of ideas..
