Apparently not well because both my 5yr old daughter and 3yr old son talk back to me. I am so not leniant (if I spelled that right) and they still give me an attitude. I time out, I talk, I make charts, I spank at times and I scream a lot! I have two very strong personalities in my house so I am constantly trying to read to figure things out. Currently working on speak so your kids will listen and listen so your kids will speak. GGGRRRR it's not easy!
