is there any need of working for the protection of the rights of animals? when we look at today's world in which millions of humans are still struggling to get even the most basic of their rights then does it make any sense to talk of animal rights?

Well I do think that it is woeth fighting for the animal rights. As far as humans are concerned their history shows no long period without any conflict. Humans are selfish and will always rob each others rights. they cannot live with peace. So at least we should save what we can.

Of course it makes sense to ensure animal rights. We do not live in a barbaric society; life of any kind should be treated with respect. Everyone does not have to enjoy animals, but they should be expected to respect that they are living things. Pets bring a lot of joy and love into the lives of many people. As far as basic human rights, I can't argue that some people in some areas of the world are more fortunate than others. But a lot is being done by all of the governments internationally to work towards resolving a lot of those issues. It is not being ignored; you'll find something about this issue every single day in every major newspaper, at least in the U.S.
