I am new here and have seen some posts about people stealing topics. I do not understand why it benefits someone to do that. Is there a reason why? If someone steals your topic do you still get credit for the discussion?

If you find someone stealing your topic, report that person for abuse so he won't do it again. I guess that's person's discussion will be deleted and the original one will be kept. I don't know why some people would copy somebody else's questions. I think it's crazy too, reporting them is the only way to stop them.

Thank you all for the replies. I have posted some topics and then found some very similar-but not the same. can you be reported for that as well?

maybe people dont realise that the same subject it already under discussion and as there are so many people using mylot its not surprising that same subjects crop up.
