Let me first start by saying you have some very deep and interesting thoughts and discussions.
I personally feel that there is no purpose in life other than to try and find a purpose. We are all on a quest to find our place of signifigance in this world and we all do that in different ways. Some people stop thier search when they find religion. Some people stop thier search when they have families. Some people never stop searching. Purpose is a word that I believe is interpretational. Everyone has one but thier end results will all vary.

This is one of the most intelligent things I have ever heard, about anything, honestly. I think you are very right. Perhaps there is no definate purpose in life, maybe there is no great question in life (other than the ones we choose to seek an answer to). Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this idea.

I don't mean to burst the bubble of anyone religious, but I once looked up the definition of "God" in urbandictionary.com and found something very interesting. It said something to the effect that God is a being that takes credit for every good thing we accomplish and takes no credit for our failures. What does everyone think about that? Is there even the slightest amount of truth in it? Feel free to share your own interpetation of what "God" is to you.

i guess the purpose of life is to be born, live your life, do good to your neighbor and live the world a better place with you servings as a good model to others..
life is short so don't waste your time on uncessary things, help if you can as there are others eventhough living, is missing their whole life

Yes, that is true. Thomas Mann once said that rather than writing a hundred stories, he would just participate in life. There is something great about being alive, but then again what is the purpose? I notice than when I try to stay positive, I influence negative circumstances, and when I think negatively, I still influence negative circumstances. This would only lead me to believe that we have to accept what will come are way, that we truly do not know what the future has in store for us. Yes, I would like to believe that we are the authors, or atleast coauthors of our lives, but I would first think that we are put here to accept life the way it is. What I'm curious to know is, who do you think created the circumstances in your life? Do you think that you selected them at a subconsious level? That you selected them before you were born? That God selects them? That they are just brought about by nature?
I appreciate any ideas on this topic.
