I decided this year I am making candy for my childrens teachers. I made Martha Washington Balls. First time. My mother makes them and i love them. Only they are so rich you can only eat a couple at a time. So what are you giving to your childrens teachers this year?
1 stick softned butter
1 can sweeten condensed milk
2 lbs powdered sugar
10 ounces or so of coconut
2 cups of chopped up pecans, though I never really measure it I just sorta do what looks right.
1 tsp. vanilla
Almond Bark chocolate or white chocolate or both
Mix it all together. Chill overnight. Make small balls, I chill them again at least an hour then melt the almond bark in double broiler. Dip balls in almond bark and let harden.

They are pretty good!! They make great gifts. I bought little Christmas tins to put them in and I am going to put ribbon and bells around the tins.

That sounds like a very good and easy recipe. I like it because it does not need to be cooked in the oven so it takes less time! I make something similar called peanut butter balls. It calls for 2 c peanut butter, 1 stick butter, 2 lbs powdered sugar. You just mush it all together, roll into balls and freeze on a cookie sheet. When the balls are hard you can dip them in melted almond bark and let them harden. The kids love to help make these treats!
