Is America ready for a minority President?

I was listening to a talk radio show this morning and the guy on there said that America is not ready to give leadership to a woman, or a black person, or anyone else who is considered a "minority". I could not diagree more. I am a white woman and I am absolutely sick of America's political leaders now. I am so ready for a change that anything is more attractive to me than the usual white, Protestant males we have been stuck with for so long now. Any thoughts?

My thought is it shouldn't matter what their race, gender or religion is. It should be dependant on if they can do the job. Besides we've had white male protestants in office and we've seen how good and bad they can be can't others do just as good or bad as them? We've seen what we've had lets see what we can get otherwise. It's about time we had some major changes.

I also feel like its time for a change..as a black woman, I wouldn't mind it being either a black man or woman...that would be a change from all the things that have happened...the closest thing we had to a black president was Clinton..if we could have someone like him run for president, they would definitely have my vote..

I think the minute they put someone who is considered a minority in office there will be an assasination. I am not saying I would oppose a minority in office, but there are many people out there who would strongly oppose this idea. We have come a long way, but not long enough yet!

I agree with you Simply me It will be very good to do that in all other countries and than people will be more ocupired about that than with war around All countries should put simple young people on top,and change them every year Black young women should be in America
