What's the worst thing you ever seen in the nursing home? What was your worst experience?My worst experience was when I had one on one case on the night shift 11pm-7am with a lady resident suffering from Alzheimers. This lady was prone to leaving the facility, so I was like her babysitter to make sure she doesn't go outside. At first I thought "this is so easy". All I did was follow the resident around at from a distance. The charge nurse told me to not let the resident see me following her. Ok I thought. I really wished she would have elaborated more on why..... So as I started walking down the hall continuing my job of just following... The resident must have caught on to me following her. Suddenly out of no where she had a broom stick chasing me down the hall. I was so shock I didn't know how to react. She was charging at me fast. That old lady was trucking. I ran to the nursing station. The charge nurse stop her and the resident was cursing me out badly. I was taken off the case and another CNA was to my place. What would you have done if that was you?
