What is the worst Christmas Gift you have gotten From your Boss?

I know that it is the thought that counts, but a friend of mine got a Christmas gift from her boss today. A cheap pen set! What is so terrible about this gift? Three months ago he gave these employees the same gift of appreciation at the compay's regional meeting. The really bad thing about this is that these employees don't correspond with the boss, the corporate office, or with each other in a hand written fashion. They communicate by E-Mail and phone!
Why can't people be more thoughtfull when giving gifts. Something practical. In this case, maybe a USB storage drive, or a cell phone case (because we all know how easy they are to break the clips off). Anything besides a pen set that will never get used.

I've worked for places that give nothing for christmas. I think it was nice of her boss to give her something at all. After all, it's not all about what we get for christmas, it's about those who thought to get us something at all!
On another note, my current boss gave me $250 a few days ago which I thought was really sweet of him!

Yes, I kow it is the thought that counts, and some bosses give nothing, but why waste money on giving a thoughtless, useless gift. He would have been better off giving a fewe dollars to charity. This pen set sill go into the kitchen junk drawer for a few years, then the trash.
I think it great that your boss gave you 250.00, what a nice person, and thoughtful too!!!
