I was born in Torino, I live in Torino, I love Torino.
I love it because it is my city but not only for that.
Torino is a wonderful city with a great history and I'd like you visit it or know more about it. So I'll try to show some bautiful places or buildings in Torino.
- The "Mole Antonelliana" is the symbol of Turin. It is a tower that until a few years ago was the highest stone building in Europe (167,50 metres). The Mole (built in 1863 like Synagogue) now is the site of the National Cinema Museum.
- "Piazza Castello" is a big square lined with porticoes and is the real heart of the city. In the middle of the square stands Palazzo Madama and on the side: The Royal Theatre, The Royal Palace, the Royal Library (that houses Leonardo da Vinci's operas).
- "Porta Palatina" is the most conspicuos parts of Roman walls towers with some ruins of Roman Theatre.
- The "Basilica of Superga" (designed by Filippo Juvarra in 1717 and completed in 1731) was built to fulfil a vow made by the Duke on the eve of his victory over the French.
To go there you can use a nice old track railway.
- "Palazzo Madama" stands in the centre of Castle Square. It has a baroque facade and older medieval parts that give to the building an unorthodox apparence.
- The "Castello and Borgo Medievale", is a medieval castle and village, built in 1884 as part of 1st Italian General Exibition. The castle is a replica of the Castle of Fenis.
- The "Gran Madre di Dio" was built in 1831 to commemorate the return of the Savoy following French occupation in 1814.
- "Palazzo Carignano" is one of the Guarini's most original creations. It was built in 1679-1685 with an undulating baroque facade, a majestic atrium and a lovely gardens. The Palace has staged many of the most important events in the history of Italy (firs Parlament). The Palace now houses the Museo Nazionale del Risorgimento.
- "Duomo di S.Giovanni and Cappella della S. Sindone" is the Cathedral of Torino and an example of Renaissance architecture (built in 1498).
There are more things to say about Torino. This is just a start.

Yep, I live in Torino, it's a great city. Now the city is renovating after Olimpic Winter game of 2006. The city built the metro railway too the make to move faster. On March the 17th the celebrations of Italian Unity start. A lot of events will take place in the city that was the first capital of Italy.
I think the city is becoming better and better every year.
