I was advised that the Lions Club could not help him. I have to loo into this more. The friend that I am trying to help with the glasses issue said that they only assist children, which I think is a great thing but wonder why they can't help him. I have to find out for myself. Thanks

I know that places like Lenscrafters collect old eyeglasses to give to the needy, but I don't remember the organization that collection supports. Maybe if you call Lenscrafters or some other eyeglass retailer they would be able to point you in the right direction?

The local Lions Club collects eyeglasses for distribution to the needy. Contact them.

Hi there - we have a Lion's Club Collection box at our local Doctor's office where we drop off our used glasses for those in need. You might want to check your local phone book to see if they have a Lion's Club in your area or nearby and contact them to see if they can provide your friend with glasses. Best of luck!

Hi tavil - I know that the ones donated here are mainly those for adults. I'd try to follow up with Lion's Club yourself to see if you can find out any further information. The only thing I can think of is that they may send them on to 3rd World Countries instead of keeping them here for adults. I sure hope you can find an answer to your friend's dilemma - nothing worse than not being able to see.

Sears also collects the old eyeglasses. You could call them and see if they can tell you who they give them to.
