The next weapon against terrorist and drug dealers may be bees. They can be trained within minutes to detect the smell of bombs and drugs, Started in Britian, it's now being successfully tested in the US: "When they detect the target scent they stick out their proboscis and the tiny movement is picked up by sensors attached to a computer.
Probable or sci-fi? wise or silly?

Very interesting... I guess it COULD work. Do they sting the people, or just locate them?

Okay,my Mom used to keep bees.Based on that, this is one of the dumbest things I've ever heard.First, supposing you could train them, they're not easy to gather and transport.Next, they really don't have a long life span,so this will be an endless process.Last, how are they going to tell their bees from the regular bees flying in the area? And aren't people going to notice all the extra bees flying around in,say an airport?

I think its one of the greatest experiments. I liked the thought behind it, how can you detect and kill bees. May be terrorists will start using some repellent.Funny thought Imagine reading in the headlines " Osama stung by Bee and collapsed on the spot" i think its a great idea might even work.
