What is the BEST DIGITAL CAMERA ??

I got a couple of suggestions from an associate at Best Buy today. He told me that a lot of people complain abou thr shudder time of digital cameras. He said cannon has the best shudder timing then nikon, then sony. He also said that if you want to print pictures bigger than an 8x10 then you will need something more than 6 megapixels. I have a Sony camera. Sadly, the hard drive went out on it and there was a class action suit against Sony. They went through the motions of recalls and such. I loved my camera very much and own a lot of Sony products. Even their computers are the bomb. But...I would not buy another Sony camera. I now own a Nikon and love it! Of course, it is a new camera for me and I have not been able to play with it as long as my Sony. But given my experience with the Sony camera...I would still advise you to get the Nikon instead.

I have a OlympusSP350, I love it because it is small but with a big screen and it is 8 mp which is great and I am so glad it has a very bright flash that some cameras don't have, I also have a Nikon Coolpix this for one I hardly ever use brcause the flash lets it down, I photograph many concerts and the flash is important but when I was buying my second camera it was something I needed to tak into account which this little camera is great with everything.

I cant say for the 2 you have mentioned Sony or Nikon. I have had 2 digital camara's and both have been from Olympus and both are still working and outstanding camara's I hope this helps

Canon makes good digital cameras too, and they are small and nice.

I would certainly go for the Nikon over Sony. Now one more question that you would have to ask yourself, is if you need to buy a DSLR?? In the DSLR category nothing would come close to NIKON!! Try the Nikon DSLR D70.
