I do a lot of stuff online money wise, so I don't think I could go a long time without it. But, I have stayed offline for several days at a time.

Good question.
I know that I rely on the internet so much that at this point in my life, I could not do without internet. Without interenet, I would not be able to efficiently function at work or at home. There is one aspect of my life that typically doesn't require a computer and that is my family.

Well, the last week I had problems with my computer and I was forced to stop for a few days. I could survive, as you can see.... :-)
Internet is very important and very useful, but I can do without it if I can't connect. I'm not an adict, I use Internet, I'm not its slave.
So, Internet represents a great opportunity, I can communicate, work, play, download stuff, listen to music, see videoclips.... I can do a lot of things with Internet, but I can live without.

actually I can live without internet because I depends of Internet to work, study, fun , and a lot of thing, so I think I would not live without a internet connection , I found that I got really upset when the Internet goes down or I have to go a place where not have a internet connection, I think it is like a kind of addiction but I don't think it is bad in all because Internet have so many positive things, I think the real problem is in the body because stay so long looking a screen is not good for the eyes and typing is also bad for the hands and a bad chair would be a big problem for your hips, I got a terrible hurt in my hip to be sit so long and but it was because I was using a chair so hard, now I am using a better chair and I think I would not have problem with it.

Despite the distraction though, being online has become a habit for most users in India. According to me, being offline makes her feel depressed. "It can get a little empty. There's a feeling of not knowing what to do with yourself."
Interestingly, in America, a reverse trend is beginning to take root. A survey carried out by emarketingmag.com in 2002 found that 23 per cent of Americans did not use the Internet because of lack of interest. 1.6 per cent claimed the Internet was of no use to them. According to a new study -- which surveyed over 3,000 adult Americans -- from the Pew Internet and American Life Project released on April 16, 2003, 17 per cent form an increasingly large group called the Internet dropouts -- people who were once online but, frustrated with technical problems, have stayed offline sometimes for a year or more. The study also found that a total of 80 million American adults -- 42 per cent of the adult population -- do not use the Internet. 20 per cent have access in as close as the next room but still choose not to go online.
