Is robert Kiyosaki American, or Japan?

The author of rich dad poor dad is robert kiyosaki. from the name it's guessed that he is not american. But i don't know for sure.

He is American, he speaks about growing up in Hawaii in his books. I think that he does have Japanese ancestors.

Bybirth he is an American but technically he is a fourth generation Japanese American. He is from Hawaii, as he was born and raised there.
Now there is much controversy about his history and roots.
