Hi guys, not many people could witness it but it was on the Indian News Channels. Basically a problem exists between wildlife getting into villages and causing some problems as injuries and even death. Once such incident occured not to long ago where a black bear entered into a village but did not attack or hurt anyone, a young boy was with the bear for 20 minutes and it did nothing to him. A little while later the entire town full of people surrounded the bear and started throwing rocks, sticks and whatever they could find lying around. The bear still never retaliated and just was trying to get away. A little while after the lit the burn with fire and burned it alive! I was shocked to see that no forest ranger was present and also that these people were clapping at the suffering of the bear. I just wanted to know what your feelings are towards something like this and if it is an issue that should be legally dealt with?

Oh man. See, the bears were there first. Those people should not be killing it, they should just leave the bears alone!

I think that it is terrible what happened, but its understandable how a village can become so outraged that the would do such a thing. If something like this threatened a village anywhere it probably have ended the same way. Even though the bear was probably just looking for food. Its pretty much like the story of the dragon and the village. The village was threatened by a dragon that lived in a cave. The dragon had lived there for hundreds of years before people had settled there. The people would frequently try to slay the dragon because they felt threatened by it. In every attempt the dragon would win. The dragon is made out to look like a monster even though the village people moved into its area.
