cheap easy toys for babies/young children

Whats your favourite cheap thing for ur bubba to pl;ay with???? I dye rice with food colouring & put them in bottles, as shakers & he loves them(i heard u can dothe same with yoghurt contairs, as drums 7 they love them) & another famous one is a balloon.Does anyone else have any ideas theyd like to share???

Well i was going to suggest the rice shaker :P but lets see...
-Fill an empty soft drink bottle with water and glitter...kinda like a snowglobe.
-A formula can and wooden spoon used as a drum.
-Using lids off emoty cans and bottles (shaving cream, hairspray etc) as stacking toys.

My kids love the lid from the pots and pans. I canned when the kids were babies and they like the jar rings tied together. also spare keys on a ring. They loved the paper and boxes. Get large boxez they can crawl in and out of. you can make a car out of cardboard boxes put paper plates for wheels. yoy can make a train wiith several boxes
