phone has become quite a necessity nowadays I believe. but at the same time it's bad because of the trends of enhancing the handphones, hanging with friends and most of it lead to waste. especially for kids they aren't the one paying, and they are at the age to enjoy things.
I myself am not a mom. but I can give an opinion looking at how I was brought up. I receive my real handphone at the age of 17, yes I know it's too late compared to my peers. when I was still in junior high many friends already had one and I can see that they often show off (even when it shouldn't be brought to school) and I can see how they use it wrongly. as I grow I'm quite grateful that I get mine a bit late.
eventhough I got mine at 18, if I would recommend someone I would say try to let a child handphone earlier than that, 16 years old might be okay? since some kids couldn't resist te thing around them it might be stressful to not have something everyone has. it depends on the kids' personality I believe, which age suits them to have a handphone is by looking at them
