well i know this may be long overdue, but guys i would like to know yer reactions to the work, either the book or the movie. well as for me, when i read the book it do interests me to think that there really are some gray areas in the religion that im in but it doesnt change my faith at all. when the controversy starts, it just as well started my interest to go read it, but after reading it, i said 'yeah it makes sense' but it still shouldn't shake my faith. happy discussions guys! I saw the movie first and then read the book. Both were very good and I enjoyed them. I found the ideas on them to be interesting and food for thought. Whether true or not, it is a great discussion to have. It could be a great debate, the whole issue about what the grail is and such.
Now I was raised Roman Catholic and I know what the church teaches. I also know that the bible was written by men. That many gospels were rejected. That the bible is not the full story of what happened. We will never know what really happened since none of us were alive back then (unless Cartiphilus is in here but that is another story :)) So it gives us a great deal to ponder upon and perhaps discuss back and forth giving different possiblities.
Did it effect my faith? No. I think the only ones it would shake their faith on would be ones who have never really thought about their faith. Just accepted it as they learned it but never really delved into it.
