what is beauty?

Different people have different ideas of beauty. you only have to look at those around you to realize that people are attracted by every possible physical type. some people find plumpness arrractive. some go for black hair. others brown. at different times in history. writers and artists have admired pure, high foreheads or low, broad ones; large. round. lustrous eyes or slanting,inscrutable ones...
what is your opinion about beauty?

In beauty, that of favor, is more than that of color; and that of decent and gracious motion, more than that of favor. That is the best part of beauty, which a picture cannot express; no, nor the first sight of the life.
Beauty is as summer fruits, which are easy to corrupt, and cannot last; and for the most part it makes a dissolute youth, and an age a little out of countenance; but yet certainly again, if it light well, it maketh virtue shine,and vices blush.

i think beauty is definately a matter of opinion, as you said some people find all sorts of different things beautiful, and also i think it is instilled in you by your society what you are supposed to find attractive and what is 'beauty' i remember when i went to hong kong there where posters and billboards everywhere for products to make your skin white, where in australia everyone wants to be tanned and brown!
