Is Dubai Festival worth a visit?

We have heard from many a people that it is indeed worth it to pay a visit to Dubai during the gala dubai festivsl.. Do u all really think so or do u think it is just hyped up to attract tourism??

I have heard and read a lot of this DUBAI festival. the tax-free, custom-duty free shops. and all.
let us see if someone talks more on this.
