english as we all know is the universal language. however, there are still a few countries which do not adopt English as a second language. not that i am strongly reinforcing this to those country, however, in my own opinion, English is indeed essential to our lives to be able to grow as a person widenin our views as we engage into interpersonal interactions.
as an english teacher to koreans, i have realized how lucky i am as a Filipino , who have learned english in school since primary years i school. not only does it gives me the benefit to get a job , but the fulfillment is different as you use the language like your own.
it is indeed undeniable that more and more people are exerting their effort in learning English to the extent that they study abroad just to be able to speak the language.Koreans, Chinese, Japanese, among others are now exhausting all means just be able to learn the language for the betterment of their relationship with foreigners, fo trade and business and others by merely using it as they travel, for it is impossible tat all people from each corner of this world be familiar with their native language.
as experienced, when i went to china a few months ago, it was very hard to communicate with the native chinese for only a very few people speak english. even so, they feel uncomfortable using the language because they are used in using the language as part of their daily routines. so even when you need to buy something, you have to do it by sign language which is pretty funny.
nowadays, one of your passports to land a job easily is to be well equipped wit your english proficiency. therefore, we must try to ameliorate our english proficiency to be able to compete in this world.
