Hi,Why are old hindi songs still sung by young boys in antakshari and my idol like hit televison soaps?Why have old songs, like those of kishorda, stuck in our memory?why are today's hindi songs, ephemeral?They are heard and they disappear like a mist.

i guess todays songs are not really melodious and do not capture ones feelings emotions aswell as the old ones did. todays songs are just fast past paced songs for a fast paced life. one hears them for a few times and then gets bored

The lyrics of the old film songs had some deep meaning it that's whey they are still popular. Songs like Jeevan se bhari teri ankhen.... Tere Mere Sapne are still soul catching.
