india won the first test match on the contribution of all the players,,though Gangulys 51 will b considered as aa crucial knock in the first inning,,it will b worth to notice the innings from Laxman also.It was the Sreesanth who wrapped up the africans openersa earllier.So it will b fair if we give credit to all instead of anyone..

I think India won because of a team effort. I m also a fan of ganguly but we cannot tell it was only because of him India won. It was also the wonderfull bowling by sreesanth and also superb knock by laxman in the second innings. We cannot leave them. But one thing is for sure.. Ganguly deserves a place in the Indian team.

No, i think India won cause of right decision taken by Vengsarkar and team effort later on.Ganguly was not the only one to contribute, even though he has a big share in that great win
