I was shocked when the doctor told me a I have allergies and it is the winter. He advised most of the time it is overlooked because the allergies can resemble cold&flu symptoms.Because we spend so much time indoors there are major triggers to winter allergies. Please tell me your experiences.

Oh Chance, don't give a chance to Allergies to attack you. Though the exact cause of allergies are not yet identified by the medical community(ie.what leads our body to react negatively in some situations, You can lesson or mitigate the effect of allergies on your body by vitalizing the immunity of your system. Be careful to take the essential nutrients needed for your body in its optimal level. Don't compromise on that. Dr.Ray.D.Strand has written an interesting book about our nutrient needs and it is titled "What Your Doesn't Know About Nutritional Medicine May Be Killing You". It is a very good book. It stresses the need of food supplements. Of course don't by supplements which are over priced and hyped.

I am the same as you! There are some red zone on my face in winter and spring. The doctor told me that I am allergic habitus and there is no specific medicine to cure it. But he suggested me to eat more vegetables and fruits, and he also told me it is benificial to have some VB and VC. I have done that as the doctor told me for about one year, I have Centrum everyday and I think it helps me much. I feel it is getting better now. I have not had allergies for a long time.

I feel for you. I have suffered from allergies for as long as I can remember. And they affect me year around. In the summer I suffer from pollen, weed, and tree allergies and in the winter it is dust, dust mites, and mildew.
I would suggest if you haven't had it yet, to be tested for the different allergies, so that you know all the things you are allergic to and then some of them can be avoided and the others you will have to work with your doctor to control the symptoms. Good luck to you.
