Latvia's cultural heritage

I visited a folk music festival in Riga (Latvia's beautiful capital) once. I was amazed at their folk singing. It was out of this world! Have you been to Riga? Have you experienced Latvian folk music?

I've never been to Latvia but I've heard the music and enjoy it. There are a number of groups I've heard doing traditional folk music from Latvia and other Balkan countries. There was also a popular women's singing group from Bulgaria that got some international exposure some years ago.

I am Latvian just returned in September, my father lives in his hometown Durbe. Riga is beautiful and huge and I miss it, I am a Latvian citizen as well as an American citizen. The folk music is awesome as well.
