Can friendship last forever or it ends in love?

well...i have seen alot of couples who were really good friends but ultimately their friendship ended in love i mean...it sounds good but....can't friends stay forever like friends?:-/.....or it has to end up at marriage....coz people change alot after marriage and then this thing effects their friendship naturally....so i think when u get married to ur friend u loose a friend :(
