What is beneficial... Is it good to create a new discussion?

Hey friends I am really confused... Please help me... I dont know if I should just participate in the exisiting discussions or should I create a new discussion. What is more beneficial as per you... Please advise?

i don't usually start my own discussion. most of the time, i post my thoughts on someone else's discussions. however, when i have thoughts in mind that i would like to share to people, ask people here about their opinions as well, that's when i started a discussion.
