Lately I think of didcussions to post, But I wonder if anyone will find it. For instance say I discuss something that bothers me about or at work, and then someone where I work stumbles across it. I feel like it's not worth posting. Does anyone else afriad to post certian discussions?

There are certain things that I will absolutely not post (here or on any of my blogs). I do however post bits and pieces of certain things (some here even) if I really need to vent on other sites that people don't know that I regularly us. I normally do so under a different username just to be on the safe side. This is all open to the public to see (along with most other places online), so you have to think twice before airing out your dirty laundry.

Great I thought I was just being paranoid. Better safe then sorry. I wish we could have two MYLOT accounts that way one I could be incognito!

If you're worried about people at work reading what you write about them, maybe you should be more careful about how you word your concern, and keep names out of it. Or perhaps you should talk to friends about it instead. Being non-specific, or phrasing your question as a hypothetical might be a better way to go. I tend to post questions about a certain subject or issue I have an opinion on, rather than discussing personal stuff to do with my life with a group of strangers! I think that discussing issues is a more productive way of using the site (for me anyway). That said, I don't have a problem with offering general advice to people asking for help, if it's on a subject I know about. If you don't feel comfortable discussing your work, then it's probably best to avoid that subject on this site!

Great advice! I'm not so concern about the people I work with but the company itself. Imagine getting fired over something you were disscussing over the internet. It would be almost like them hearing your private conversion. I do know that these post are not private. But theres such great advice here it would be nice to here there opinions on subjects like that.

I think that maybe they should stumble across it ..You should have a happy work place..perhaps you can make it as if a friend is having the difficulty and see what the response will be..

Actually, things on MyLot are as anonymous as you want them to be. If you don't want people to recognize you, don't disclose anything personal. Be vague about your interests. Write a different area of the country as your home. Of course Hector couldn't be your Avator, because your friends would probably recognize him. It's probably best to never put anything on here that you wouldn't want someone you knew to read- the world is a small place, and the Internet makes it even smaller.

You're right I think things should be anonymous on here. I mean sometimes it would be easier to express yourself if you knew noone would know who it was coming from.

Absolutely, but I guess the price we pay for having our opinion is knowing everyone knows who it's coming from. Not great but I'll take it. I like your incognito idea

It definitely would! I here people ask about why people don't use their real picture as their avatar that's one of those reasons.

Sometimes I am quite afraid of posting very controversial posts like when it comes to religion, races, politics. Just feel free to post whatever you want and try not to bother with whatever they will have to say. If they don't like it then ask them not to respond to it.
