I'm asking this question today because my friend made a movie terrible for me today. We were watching it and she kept over analyzing it and the movie was a senseless comedy. The name of the movie was talladega nights and now I have to re watch it over again. Why is it that people over analyze things so much to the point where they can't enjoy them?

Maybe your friend wasn't enjoying that comedy, and that's why she was analysing it: to show why she didn't like it. Next time you want to watch a comedy which is similar to that one, I'd just avoid watching it with her. Different people have different tastes and approaches to cinema and other entertainment, and senseless comedy probably just isn't her bag!

She does it with everything though the movie was just a recent example she has to analyze everything for some reason.

Maybe that's just the way she looks at things. It's probably annoying to you if you don't enjoy doing that too, but I'm sure she's not doing it to annoy you. Analysing stuff around you can give you a better understanding of the world around you. It could be that that's just the way her thought processes are evolving, or that she's re-evaluating everything in her life following something which has affected her. In which case it may just be a phase. Have you talked with her about it (in a non-confrontory way)?

We're taught to do this in school. Can't you remember tearing things, especially books, apart and looking for meanings that you always suspicioned were in the teacher's mind rather than the intent of the author?
Then, our media picks every little thing apart trying to fill all the air time they're now given. They analyze every aspect of a situation arriving at sometimes pretty shaky conclusions. Or after you've sat patiently while the President gives a speech thru one of your favorite TV shows only to have a news commentator analyze what he said afterwards as if you weren't smart enough to figure out what he had said yourself.
I hate it when people want to analyze things for me. I'd much rather see things for myself and figure them out in my own way than be expected to see what someone else has perceived.

Maybe because he wants to get attention from others, showing his competence on the matter, being it movies or anything else.
You could tell your friend to write movie critiques, maybe starting with imdb.com.
If his critiques are valuable he could make money from them, and if they're not maybe he would realize it and stop annoying his friends :)

Some people just take everything too seriously. They have to loosen up a bit. If they're too serious, they won't enjoy life. They would always look for things to criticize. They would always look for reasons why things are like this and that.
Tell your friend, in a nice way, that she should just enjoy watching a movie. A movie's storyline may be based on a true story or just a product of imagination. They may or may not make sense. So when watching a movie, just sit back, relax, grab some popcorn and enjoy!:)
