I know the movie trailers have shown a superficial life of the penguins but unexpectedly the movie carried a deep message for us humans. So what made you think after seeing the movie?

Though the movie is an animation, it depicts the different virtues that humans must be reminded of.
Virtues such as acceptance, responsibility, bravery, courage, and love. Acceptance because no matter how we are indifferent in many ways, each of us has his own uniqueness. Thus, we deserve in every group and community that we belong. Each one is also responsible in every thing that he does. You have to be initiative when taking your own responsibility. Just like what Mumble did. He was never told on what he is supposed to do. He took the challenge of taking the higher responsibility even if he was taken for granted by the officials in his homeplace. He showed bravery and courage despite the fact that it will be too risky for him to do that.
And lastly, see what love can really do? He became selfless, took every sacrifice, just to prove to everyone that he can do something great..
If the movie shows that animals like them can do that, why can't we????

I have not yet seen the movie but based on your comments on it it is a affecting(leaves something to its audience)film.
Do you celebrate Christmas? If yes, I will take this opportunity to greet you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year (though is not yet Dec. 25, I may not have a chance to greet you anymore so I will do it now).

The animated version of Happy Feet was based on a French Documentary called "March of the Penguins". The animated version stuck close to the documentary in that penguins have a calling song so the babies can find parents. The eggs are shifted from mother to father after 2 months then the father looks after egg till it hatches. They make a long trip 70 miles back to ocean to feed themselves and young. Apart from the Penguins talking in human voice that was the main difference and the story line. I loved both the doucmentary and animated movie the Penguins have been doing this for centuries the message is protect and don't respect the envirionment and animals in their natural habitat. Believe in yourself and don;t be afraid to start something new more on a personal level.

there are other messages/ lessons being sent out by the movie..like acceptance of a person despite their differences. the movie also shows the effect the parents' opinions have on the kids, and giving in to peer/ environment pressure on how to go about our lives..
there's also pursuing your belief..
and then, there's this part where the movie shows how gullible we can be, believing in seers or pretend-to-be people who can see the future..and making our decisions depend on the say-so of others..and what's more stupid is paying for that advice...
and of course, there's the message about L-O-V-E
