I like that the guitar has a fretboard. While it's definitely not easy, I couldn't imagine it without the fretboard! Even though I play violin and viola.

Something funny about that... A few years ago I was in a college guitar ensemble. The teacher said that we're probably just all in it for the girls! It was funny because no one disagreed. The two girls (me and another) at that time, both lesbians. So yep, in it for the girls! Funny thing is, I've played a couple instruments for my girlfriend, never guitar yet. I need to practice again.

I play guitar purely for the sound it makes. I like it because its very flexible with what it can play. You can play Jazz, classical, metal, rock, blues, ANYTHING with the guitar. The main thing I like is the kind of music you can make with a guitar and the emotion that you can portray with a guitar.

Yes, I have always wanted to learn to play one and am hoping to get my older boy to start lessons with me next year. I want to learn the drums too, maybe one day. Usually guitars look good and are portable.
